Quit Smoking Now and Live a Healthier Life

Have you been smoking all your life? Do you think it is time for a change? Well, there is no better time than NOW! Smoking not only ruins your health, but it ruins the health of others around you. In addition, smoking costs a lot of money, money that could be saved and put towards things like…family vacations, charities, rainy day funds, college funds, or everyday cash to make your life a lot easier. No matter what your reasons were to start smoking, I advise you quit smoking now and start living a healthier life.

Listed below are 4 major reasons why you should stop smoking.

1. It is no myth that bad breath has a link to smoking. Unlike what the cigarette companies would like you to think, smoking is not cool. Smokers have to constantly pop breath mints or apologize for their breath. I am sure you do not want to be this person, so make the decision to quit smoking now.

2. Smoking also stains your teeth and removal of these stains can be quite costly. It is never considered sexy to have yellow-brown teeth. This is a very good reason why you should quit smoking now, the sooner you stop, the less damage will be done.

3. For years, cigarette companies hid the truth from the world, they kept telling us “cigarette smoking has no link to cancer”, but after the government put pressure on them the truth came out, and now clearly marked on all cigarette packs is a warning stating that the surgeon general cautions against the use of tobacco products because they cause cancer. We do not have to argue with anybody about the horrors of cancer, but the sad fact is millions of people worldwide continue to smoke, in 2005 over 160,000 Americans died from lung cancer which is directly linked to cigarette smoking. With startling figures like these I strongly advise that you quit smoking now.

4. Cigarettes are expensive, the average smoker could put tens of thousands of dollars into his/her 401k if they would just quit smoking. Imagine how much YOU could SAVE if you quit smoking now and start saving all the money you use to throw away on this bad habit.

Cigarette companies spend millions of dollars each year on ads and research trying to get our population hooked on cigarettes at a younger age. If you have just started, I suggest you quit smoking now. The sooner you do, the easier it will be. If you have been smoking for years, I still suggest you quit smoking now. Don’t get me wrong, it will take a lot of will power, restless nights, and for most, professional help. But when it is all over you will be glad you took up the challenge to quit smoking now. Last but not least, if you haven’t started, DON’T, smoking is one of the hardest habits to get rid of.
